The School of Civil & Environmental Engineering recently co-hosted an International Global Navigational Satellite Systems Conference, (IGNSS2022)Australasia’s premier conference and exhibit for technology, products and services in Positioning Navigation and Timing, including GNSS. The Conference not only addressed the wave of new opportunities but also the risks posed by jamming, spoofing and cybersecurity threats.
The theme of the conference was ‘Look UP, Look OUT — GNSS Horizons’, and IGNSS2022 Technical Committee member and CVEN academic Dr Craig Roberts welcomed attendees to the Conference with an expansive vision of the future. "PNT is starting to grow up" he said, "it’s not a teenager anymore. We’re starting to reach out more and expand to a growing range of applications. So what we do is having an impact more broadly.” The Conference attracted positive feedback from industry media - Position Magazine said 'The Conference was a very enjoyable and enlightening experience, with something of interest for everyone — whether that was policy matters, technical developments or research applications.'
