Dr’s Gyawali & Toomey Receive Dean’s Award for Outstanding PhD Theses

Congratulations to Dr's Rajendra Gyawali and Melinda Toomey who have both received the Dean's Award for Outstanding PhD Theses.

In the morning of 7 December 2020 UNSW Canberra hosted the Conferring of Awards Ceremony for degrees in the streams of Humanities and Social Sciences. The ceremony was presided over by the Rector of UNSW Canberra, Professor Michael Frater, BSc BE Syd, MzHEd UNSW, PhD ANU, FTSE. The Occasional Speaker was Professor Craig Stockings. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremony was held with reduced capacity within Adams Auditorium and closed to family and guests. The event was live-streamed.

Congratulations to Dr's Rajendra Gyawali and Melinda Toomey who have both received the Dean's Award for Outstanding PhD Theses.

"To receive this award, candidates must produce a thesis that requires only minimal corrections, received outstanding and/or excellent levels of achievement for all examination criteria, and in the opinion of both examiners is in the top 10% of PhD theses they have examined."

Rajendra's thesis is titled: "Optimising The Appropriateness Of Diabetic Eyecare Delivery In Australia" and;

Melinda's thesis is titled: "iCareTrack: Improving the Appropriateness of Australian Glaucoma Eyecare Delivery (ImAAGED)"
