Celebrating the first UNSW Law & Justice Student Community Awards

Proudly announcing the winners of the inaugural Law & Justice Student Community Awards, a new initiative recognising the exceptional contributions of our final-year LLB, BCCJ and JD students to the faculty community and beyond.

“We have created the new Law & Justice Community Awards to recognise the great breadth and diversity of contributions made by members of our student body. We are proud of the way so many students give their time, whether inside Law & Justice, across UNSW or through volunteering with community organisations. Our focus is particularly on demonstrated leadership that aligns with the Faculty’s values of service and concern for others,” says Professor Andrew Lynch, Dean of UNSW Law & Justice.

Community nominations opened for two weeks in October, offering faculty staff, students and community partners the opportunity to shine a spotlight on a student who has made a positive impact during their time at UNSW Law & Justice. Nominees were notified and invited to provide a self-submission to formally pursue the Award.

Judging was conducted by a panel comprising of the Dean, Professor Andrew Lynch; Pro Vice-Chancellor, Student Success, Leah Hill; and Chair of Law & Justice Advisory Council and alumnus, Michael Sirmai.

“The selection process was far from easy – there is so much amazing activity being carried out by law and criminology students that we wanted to recognise,” says Professor Lynch.

“I congratulate all recipients of these new awards and thank them and every nominee for the time they have given to make UNSW and our wider community a better and kinder place.”

We are proud to celebrate the following student winners of the Award, following consensus from the judging panel. The winners were celebrated amongst members of the community and recent Law & Justice Prize Winners on the evening of Wednesday, 10 December 2025.
