Digital Health Week 2026 came to a close in February 2026 . A keynote from Prof Sze-Yuan Ooi and Prof Nigel Lovell and chaired by Sue Keay set the tone, sharing insights from their collaborative work across hashtag#telehealth and virtual care. Their reflections reinforced how meaningful digital health can be for people living with chronic disease, particularly when grounded in strong partnerships and a willingness to learn through implementation.
This was followed by a panel discussion posing a timely question: What do we need to do today to ensure our digital health systems remain adaptable, inclusive and resilient into the future?
Chaired by Prof Leanne Togher, panel members Dr Myron Godinho, Pip Brennan, Dr Connie Henson, Dr Adrian Boscolo and Karen Gallagher explored themes ranging from AI and data to person-centred care. We heard both the optimism around AI adoption in healthcare and the clear need for better education to support its safe and effective use. It was also encouraging to hear how strongly communities are embracing co-design, with consumers keen to be active stakeholders in their own health.
The afternoon streams covered virtual care, workforce and systems, social media, and adolescent health, giving us rich examples of what digital health can achieve, and the challenges we still need to navigate around implementation, flexibility, and engaging stakeholders. It was especially exciting to hear from so many early career researchers sharing their work.
We wrapped up with reflections from DHIN Convenor Dr Dr Melissa (Liss) Brunner, hearing from people in the room about their highlights of the conference (and discovering who secretly enjoys a bit of audience participation) while celebrating our stream and poster award winners. A huge congratulations to all presenters and award recipients; a wonderful way to close out the conferenc
