The International Centre for Future Health Systems (ICFHS) hosted the 2026 Ian Webster Oration at the UNSW Health Translation Hub, bringing together leaders in health care, research, philanthropy and academia to discuss the future of health systems.

The 2026 oration was delivered by Professor Trish Greenhalgh, Professor of Primary Care Health Sciences at the University of Oxford and Chair of the International Strategic Expert Advisory Committee of the International Centre for Future Health Systems. In her address, “Future Health System: A Research Agenda”, Professor Greenhalgh explored the research priorities, partnerships and innovations needed to strengthen future health systems and improve care for people and communities.

Guests included Emeritus Professor Ian Webster AO, representatives of the Sir William Tyree Foundation, and colleagues from across the UNSW and the broader health sector. The event was opened by Professor Cheryl Jones, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine & Health, who highlighted the Centre's commitment to health equity, interdisciplinary collaboration and improving health outcomes for communities.  A highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Ian Webster Scholarship, established by the Sir William Tyree Foundation to support undergraduate students who have experienced disadvantage.
