The Behavioural Sciences Unit (BSU) was established in 2001 to conduct research studies that cover all psycho-social and behavioural aspects of paediatric cancer.
​A UNSW research group, the Unit is also part of, and supported by, the Kids Cancer Centre, Sydney Children's Hospital.

Our research

It is our mandate to lead research which enables health professionals and the hospital system to better support children and their families from the diagnosis of a serious or chronic condition through to survivorship or bereavement.

About us

We are a multidisciplinary team with representation from psychology, dietetics, paediatric oncology/haematology, social work, nursing, bereavement counselling, behavioural sciences, and exercise physiology. We also include consumer representatives for all projects.
