Experimental investigation of the effect of ember combustion on structures’ damage

This project aims to understand the mechanisms of house loss due to the accumulation of embers during bushfires. 

Exposure and accumulation of embers (firebrands) are not considered in existing building codes and standards. The project will use a new approach that combines experiments and modelling to understand how exposure to burning embers affects structures during extreme fire events.
