This PhD project will investigate healthy and sustainable diets across childhood and adolescence using Australian National Nutrition Surveys and longitudinal cohort data.

The project will examine adherence to healthy and sustainable dietary patterns across age, sex, socioeconomic and cultural groups and evaluate associations with diet quality, nutrient adequacy and environmental impacts.

It will also identify trajectories of healthy and sustainable diets from early childhood, examine maternal and child factors influencing these patterns, and determine their associations with subsequent health outcomes, including growth and cardiometabolic health.

The findings will generate evidence to inform child dietary guidelines, public health policy and strategies promoting healthy, equitable and environmentally sustainable diets.
