This study is aimed at understanding the compressible flow physics when an external shock interacts with the wake behind a circular cylinder using a parametric study. The key parameters in this study are freestream Mach number, Reynolds number and the shock strength (shock angle).
The candidate will conduct high-fidelity numerical simulations and experiments to discover the flow regimes in the identified parametric space.
