The PhD project is within the broad scope of 'Modelling for Metal Additive Manufacturing'. There is potential to explore a range of different topics suited to the candidate’s interest and skillset. This may include but is not limited to:
- processing-microstructure-property relationships in metal additive manufacturing (MAM)
- microstructure evolution under MAM conditions
- residual stress formation during MAM
- mechanical behaviour of additively manufactured materials under different types of mechanical loading (quasistatic, dynamic, fatigue)
- thermal modelling of MAM
- MAM process optimisation
The topics mentioned above include model development and optimisation. Applicants must have experience with simulations and programming.
How to Apply
Express your interest in this project by emailing Dr Olga Zinovieva at o.zinovieva@unsw.edu.au with a copy of your CV and your academic transcript(s).
If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to submit a formal application for admission to the PhD program.
