With global climate change, wildfires are expected to intensify, resulting in prolonged fire seasons and larger burned areas. The emissions from wildfire are complex heterogeneous mixtures of pollutants due to the variations in fuel, burning conditions and other external environmental factors and undergo physical and chemical transformation while being transported.

This PhD project will investigate how a real-time wildfire emission mapping using Deep Learning techniques can be implemented into inform wildfire mitigation strategies.
