Carbon Hills is turning waste biogas into grid-ready renewable gas with low-cost, modular technology.
-
Carbon Hills provides low-cost biogas-to-biomethane upgrading technology for wastewater, organic waste and agricultural facilities. Its modular system uses a proprietary process to remove carbon dioxide and impurities from raw biogas, producing grid-injectable biomethane. The solution helps customers reduce emissions, unlock renewable gas revenue and improve project economics.
-
Australia has significant untapped biogas-to-biomethane potential, but raw biogas is often flared or underused because upgrading it to grid-injectable biomethane remains costly and complex. This leaves wastewater utilities, waste management, and agricultural biogas producers unable to fully monetise renewable gas resources or meet emissions-reduction targets.
-
Wastewater, organic waste and agricultural facilities seeking low-cost biogas upgrading to biomethane for grid injection, renewable gas revenue, and emissions reduction.
-
- TRL 4 validated: >95% carbon dioxide removal, >99% methane recovery validated
- ~AU$1M secured from AEA and UNSW
- Collaborative pilot with Jemena at Malabar Wastewater Treatment Plant
