EpiQuil is developing a dissolving microneedle patch to improve drug delivery for people with severe epilepsy.
-
EpiQuil has developed a dissolving microneedle patch that delivers pharmaceutical cannabidiol through the skin for children and adults with severe drug-resistant epilepsy, replacing the burden of oily oral liquids. Its proprietary platform is designed for lipophilic medicines, such as cannabinoids, for which oral delivery is inherently limited.
-
Cannabidiol is a clinically validated, blockbuster epilepsy medicine, yet it reaches patients only as a high-volume oral oil with variable exposure and a heavy daily burden on families. EpiQuil's dissolving microneedle patch is designed to close that delivery gap, leading with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome ahead of a broader pipeline.
-
Patients living with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome and their caregivers, paediatric to adult. Prescribed by neurologists and epileptologists in reimbursed markets.
-
- Pre-clinical safety complete; animal pharmacokinetic study underway for August 2026 data
- More than AU$500,000 in non-dilutive funding secured to date
- End-to-end first-in-human supply chain engaged: API, GMP, clinical investigator
