iFire 2.0 uses AI-powered simulation to help responders prepare for complex and unprecedented wildfire scenarios.
-
iFire 2.0 is an AI-driven fire simulation platform that lets responders and communities generate and experience unprecedented wildfire scenarios in real time. Users dynamically alter variables — wind speed, humidity, terrain — and rehearse their response inside a geo-located, photo-realistic fire ground on any 2D or 3D screen. Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and a deep learning fire behaviour model, it delivers experiential training that no historical footage can replicate. Available via a licensing model.
-
Emergency services, government agencies and residents must train for fires unlike anything previously experienced. Climate-driven wildfires are increasingly catastrophic and unpredictable — yet all existing training tools rely on historical experience and scripted scenarios. The 2020 Royal Commission found the nation dangerously unprepared — Black Summer cost an estimated AU$100 billion.
-
Fire and emergency services agencies, defence and government bodies worldwide; the secondary market includes at-risk communities and educational institutions in fire-prone regions.
-
- Adopted by Fire and Rescue NSW for front-line training.
- AU$3.7M raised to date.
- Deployed across 3 countries; selected in 2026 for the European Network on Extreme Fire Behaviour showcase. unsw.to/ifire
