Why invest
Solar is becoming the world’s largest source of electricity. EVs are the world’s largest distributed battery. Merging them is the defining opportunity of the transition.

Merge Energy is connecting EV batteries with solar infrastructure to create smarter, more scalable energy storage.

Investment categories

Climate & clean tech, Transportation

  • A spinout of UNSW’s Sunswift Racing, Merge Energy develops technologies that bring transport and energy systems together. Its first commercial product, V2G-Key™, provides an affordable and scalable storage-for-solar solution for homes and businesses.

  • Solar generation is only half of the energy transition. Storage is now essential. As transport and energy converge, deploying storage still relies on costly duplication of batteries, inverters and infrastructure. This is creating a major affordability barrier and slowing the transition globally.

  • Launch market: 350,000+ Australian households with solar, an EV and no home battery TAM in 2030: 100 million solar premises globally, progressively transitioning to EV.

    • AU$1.5M non-dilutive funding secured
    • 460+ customer expressions of interest (42% website conversion rate)
    • Over 100 paid-trial candidates
    • Provisional patent lodged merge.energy
