SMDx Detect AD is a blood test designed to enable earlier, more accessible detection of Alzheimer’s disease.
-
SMDx has developed SMDx Detect AD, a proprietary blood test for early Alzheimer’s disease (AD) detection. It enables clinicians to identify preclinical AD risk, monitor amyloid depletion treatment, and diagnose AD at symptom onset. Built on 40 years of AD research, this patented, non-invasive and cost-efficient test can run on commonly available equipment in high-volume testing laboratories, enabling scalable adoption within existing diagnostic infrastructure.
-
Dementia is Australia’s #1 killer, but there are effective treatment and prevention strategies for individuals with AD risk. Early detection is critical to maximise the impact of these strategies. Still, current gold standards (e.g. PET-Amyloid) are expensive, invasive and limited to the patient groups that can access them.
-
Large testing providers (e.g. Sonic, Quest, and Labcorp), strategic diagnostic developers and AD drug developers to adopt or incorporate SMDx Detect AD into their workflow.
-
- SMDx Detect™ AD is 95% more accurate in identifying AD compared to PET
- First order from the world’s largest Dx developer
- Partnerships underway with immunoassay developers/ diagnostic laboratories
