Why invest
There are only nine facilities able to host launches by Australia’s allies and partners. WA Spaceport’s edge is lower cost and accessibility.

A private orbital launch facility in Albany, WA

This facility provides agile launch capabilities for defence, commercial, and research purposes - solving the AUD16.5 billion problem of secure, cost-effective, licensed facilities needed to launch the next generation of space research and innovation.

Defence & dual use

  • Western Australia Spaceport is an agile independent orbital launch facility that exploits location-incumbent infrastructure with a fit-for-purpose design.

Founded in 2019, the facility is a 40-minute drive east of Albany’s seaport, airport, and major road arterial. The facility is a four-hour drive, or 40-minute flight, from Perth.

    • Between now and 2030, over 8000 satellites will require launch.
    • Secure, licensed facilities capable of high launch cadence are at capacity. The average documented delay is four months.
    • Payloads do not produce revenue or objectives during this time. To avoid delays the alternative is a dedicated launch that can cost four times the price.
    • Five Eyes, AUKUS, allies and partners

    • AUD31 million of revenue signed
    • Solidified the regulatory pathway through local, state and federal requirements
