Alan is a highly experienced construction engineer and project director with a 25+ year track record across various sectors including residential, commercial, transport, health, education and mining. He started early in construction, working on-site for the family construction business, then ran his own engineering consultancy, and later held senior project & commercial manager roles, delivering major projects in Australia, the UK and Ireland. This included the delivery of projects in NSW for TfNSW, Sydney Metro, TAFE NSW, Health Infrastructure NSW, the Barangaroo Delivery Authority and Westconnex. He is a chartered civil engineer and holds a Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering & Management and a Masters Degree in International Construction Law. He completed his PhD thesis on the subject of Intelligent Construction Contracts here at UNSW and founded Xpede Group, who have developed software that de-risks construction projects through supply chain payment transparency.
