Dr. Allan Ared

After completing his internship in Atlanta, USA, Dr Ared graduated with honours from the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of NSW. He earned his PhD studying the effects of eye rubbing in keratoconus through the Faculty of Medicine at UNSW, where he now serves as an Adjunct Lecturer. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics (GCOT) and a Master's in Public Health (MPH). Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), recognised for his pioneering research in anterior segment ocular disease. His practice is highly respected for managing complex corneal conditions, fitting specialty contact lenses for keratoconus, and managing ocular surface disorders. Dr Ared is a credentialed examiner (CO) for CASA, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia, and a medical reviewer for several high-impact ophthalmic journals.
