Dr. Barbara Caffery graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1977. In 2009, she completed her PhD programme in Vision Science at the University of Waterloo upon defending her thesis entitled Sjogren’s Syndrome: A Clinical and Biochemical Analysis. Dr. Caffery practices at Toronto Eye Care in downtown Toronto, Canada. She has published widely in the area of dry eye disease. She has participated in several TFOS initiatives, including DEWS I and II, Contact Lens Discomfort, and Lifestyle Workshop. She has served on the Board of the American Academy of Optometry for sixteen years and is a past president of that organization.
