Dr Ben Hui
Ben Hui is a mathematical modeller. His work involves the development of mathematical models for assessing the impact of interventions to reduce sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This work is currently focused on STI prevention in remote indigenous communities in Australia with limited access to health services.
Research Interests:
Currently involved in the development of mathematical models for assessing the impact of interventions for the control and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STI) within Australian population. By analysing the impacts of biological and social factors on disease incidence and prevalence, these models can be used to further our understanding on disease epidemiology. They can also be used to study the possible achievements and effectiveness under various health interventions, providing useful information to health policy makers.
Broad Research Areas:
Disease Modelling, Infectious Diseases, Population Health, Biomedical Engineering, Epidemiology
Specific Research Keywords:
STD/STIs, Mathematical Modelling, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematical Biology
