MSc - Oceanography, University of British Columbia 2022
BSc (Honours) - Physics, University of Calgary 2019
I'm an education focused associate lecturer working on improving the introductory climate science courses at UNSW in the Climate Change Research Centre. I'm really interested in trying to apply teaching theory to assessments to make them more effective for the students and instructors.
My background is as an oceanographer, making use of numerical modeling and data analysis to explore fundamental ocean processes and improve our understanding of regional ocean variability and its role in the broader climate system.
My research focuses on understanding the dynamics of western boundary currents and eddies using numerical ocean models of varying complexities. My PhD centred around how variations in the East Australian Current influences the generation of turbulent energy in the Tasman Sea.

My Teaching
I am working on the development of the fully remote CLIM 1001 and CLIM 2002 courses in the CCRC. Our team is modernizing the content to align with current climate knowledge, and revamping the assessments to reduce the impact of AI-assisted cheating. I am applying teaching pedagogy to ensure that the course content and assessments align with the learning outcomes.
