Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Dr. David Rey is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW Sydney. He is also a member of the Research Center for Integrated Transport Innovation (rCITI). Dr. Rey was awarded a research scholarship from the French Institute for Science and Technology for Transport, Development and Networks (IFSTTAR) and he holds a PhD in Operations Research from the University of Grenoble (France).

Dr. Rey has developed a multi-disciplinary research program centered on Operations Research (OR) with targeted application areas, predominantly in transportation and logistics but also in infrastructure management, systems engineering, construction and public health. His main research interests lie in mathematical optimisation, mixed-integer (nonlinear) programming, bilevel optimization, game theory, and mechanism design. Dr. Rey is currently working on emerging business models for on-demand mobility and logistics systems; network design, resilience and recovery; and resource allocation problems.
