Mx Elliot Gould

Elliot contributes to research at the interface of ecological sciences and environmental data science. He assists in the development and refinement of reproducible workflows for ecosystem-specific and fit-for-purpose indicators on the ARDC funded Ecosystem Indicators Workflows project. They follow FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reproducible) to develop workflows, software packages, refine research vocabularies, audit datasets, document platform capabilities and performance.

Elliot's research utilises data science techniques to advance the open-science movement, and they seek to build a strong community of practice by improving the transparency and reproducibility of research within their home discipline of ecology and conservation science. Elliot's primary interest is in building ecological models for aiding conservation and management decisions. His PhD investigated the transparency and reproducibility of ecological models in applied ecology and conservation decision-making. Other interests include decision-theory, structured decision making, and plant ecology.
