Dr Evelyn Lai is a Lecturer in the School of Banking and Finance at the UNSW Business School. Prior to joining UNSW, she held the position of Academic Fellow (Lecturer) in the Discipline of Finance at The University of Sydney.

She was awarded double First Class Honours in Commerce and Science (Advanced) along with a PhD in Finance from USYD. Evelyn is a passionate educator with a range of experience across different Disciplines within the Business School – ranging from first-year units to advanced postgraduate level units. She was part of the inaugural cohort of staff members at USYD to be awarded fellowship by the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE) in recognition of their contributions to teaching and learning.

As an Education-Focussed academic, Evelyn has been actively involved in teaching and course re-design for Integrated First Year (IFY) courses as well as core courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the BCom and MCom. Her research interests focus on assessment and feedback design to encourage sustainable learning, educational technology (EdTech), and data-driven student learning experiences.
