Dr George Joukhadar

George is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Information Systems and Technology Management at UNSW Business School. His work brings together teaching innovation, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), and research on digital transformation and sustainability.

George is the Stream Coordinator for the Master of Commerce in Digital Transformation. From 2022 to 2025, he was Program Director of UNSW Online’s Analytics program, supporting students to develop the skills to use data for informed decision-making and strategic insight.

George is committed to creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences and believes every student can grow through purposeful support and challenge. His teaching explores new approaches to learning and assessment, including the thoughtful use of generative AI (GenAI). He is particularly interested in authentic assessment and effective feedback. He has co-led UNSW communities and fellowships focused on student feedback, digital assessment, and assessment and feedback practice.

George co-founded and co-leads UNSW’s Education for Sustainable Development Community of Practice, which supports educators to embed sustainability in curriculum and teaching. His SoTL work examines GenAI in assessment and feedback, sustainability education, and ways to strengthen student learning through curriculum and assessment design. He presents this work at conferences including ISSOTL, ASCILITE and HERDSA. H currently e serves as a Member-at-Large on ISSOTL’s Conference Subcommittee.

As a Visiting Teaching Fellow, George has engaged with colleagues at Copenhagen Business School, ESSEC Business School and ESCP Business School. He has shared UNSW’s approaches to assessment and AI, discussed the integration of GenAI into curricula and assessment, and presented on his contributions to this work.

George’s information systems research explores how organisations can use emerging digital technologies to improve their work while addressing environmental and social responsibility. Across his teaching, leadership and research, he is interested in how digital transformation can support a more sustainable and equitable future.
