Lecturer
Arts, Design & Architecture (ADA)
School of the Arts and Media

James Wiggins is a Lecturer in creativity, advertising, and brand management, and is Specialisation Lead for the School’s public relations and advertising degrees. His teaching focus is creating an understanding of how academic theory applies to practical, professional practice. He comes from a background in brand strategy consulting, business consulting, advertising strategy, and ad agency management. His research focuses on uncovering insights around the connection between human wants and needs, social and cultural drivers, and corporate imperatives, and the role communications based on these insights impacts beliefs and behaviours, and so employee attraction, retention, and engagement; management behaviour; executive decision-making; employee and organisational productivity; and corporate profitability. He works with commercial and not-for-profit organisations to develop employer brand strategies from this research, and with industry partners to deliver communications campaigns.
