I am Professor at the Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship at the University of New South Wales and a medical oncologist.
My research focuses on cancer survivorship, with a particular interest in improving outcomes and quality of life, exercise and cognitive function in people with lived experience of cancer.
I founded and was Director of the Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre at Concord Hospital, and founded and co-lead the University of Sydney Survivorship Research Group with Professor Haryana Dhillon.
I am the Study Co-Chair and Australian Chair for the CHALLENGE exercise study, and co-founder and co-chair of the International Cognition and Cancer Task Force.

Since 2007 Professor Vardy has generated over AUD$21m ($8.8m as CIA) in peer-reviewed grants for new research. She had continuous NHMRC funding from 2007- 2025, including three project grants as CIA (one for $2.4m) and an NHMRC Investigator Grant.
