Dr. Kerry A. London is an Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Arts, Architecture and Design, School of Built Environment at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney (Australia). For nearly two decades Hon. Professor London has pioneered various initiatives in a range of senior executive positions that include Deputy Vice Chancellor Research, Pro Vice Chancellor Research, deputy PVC Learning and Teaching, Executive Dean and Institute Director. She has served in leadership roles in industry and professional bodies. She has been successful in launching Schools and organisational units, Institutes and centres, and new teaching and research programs and lifting research performance across Universities.
Kerry has a significant national and international reputation in the area of construction industry innovation, as evidenced by various invitations including, a Ministerial appointment to the National Built Environment Industry Innovation Council, national representation to International Standards Organisation Committees/Working Parties, international academic and industry keynotes, international publications and editorials, CEDA Trustee, and Ministerial appointment as Board Member of NSW Architects Registration Board.
Kerry has been a Visiting Scholar at various prestigious international institutions including Salford University, Reading University and Penn State University. She has presented as an invited Keynote at 23 national and international conferences.
Hon. Professor London’s qualifications, training and industry experience are in architecture, construction/building, project/design and asset management and construction industry policy. In 2025 she was admitted as an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Public Private Partnerships in recognition for her academic and research commitments. In 2009 she was awarded a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Building for her dedication to education and professional practice. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the NSW Royal Society of Science Board Chair of the Institute of Integrated Infrastructure of Australia. She was a Founding Member of the Australian Housing Supply Chain Alliance which included organisations Metricon, Australand, Boral, CSR, MBA, HIA and FMG Engineering.

Professor London researches supply chain theory and collaborative practice, technology adoption, sustainable urban development, housing affordability, building information modelling and robotics. Her extensive housing research has focussed on housing affordability, off-site manufacturing, collaborative practice, digital collaboration, professionalism and ethics, and client performance. She uses social science methodologies to analyse how innovations and technology adoption that can improve productivity, quality and performance are catalysed by collaborative practice across multiple industry supply chain networks. She is currently writing a research book towards developing theory and practice in transdisciplinary research in the built environment.
She has over 235 peer-reviewed publications including an invited sole authored research book, ‘Construction Supply Chain Economics’ in the prestigious Spons Research Series Built Environment. She has also coauthored an edited book with Prof Will O'Brien, Dr Ruben Vrijhoef and Prof Carlos Formosa Construction Supply Chain Management Handbook. She has won numerous awards for Best Paper/Innovative Paper at various CIB international conferences over the years and won an RMIT University Research Excellence Award.
Kerry has been a Visiting Scholar at various prestigious international institutions including Salford University, Reading University and Penn State University. She has presented as an invited Keynote at 23 national and international conferences.
Kerry has a doctorate (PhD) in construction management from the University of Melbourne 'Construction Supply Chain Procurement' and was invited by Taylor and Frances publisher to transform her thesis into their prestigious Research Series and at the time was the only Australian sole author in the series. She won a CIOB National Research Excellence Award for her doctoral thesis and was awarded the Inaugural Bursary for Housing Research by Housing Industry Association in 1998 during her doctoral studies. During her doctorate studies at University of Melbourne she was awarded a Universitas 21 Postgraduate Overseas Research Excellence award.
She has supervised 19 HDR students to completion since 2004 of which 14 were doctoral students; many who have achieved academic or industry executive and/or leadership positions in universities or companies, both in Australia and overseas.
She has been awarded 32 externally funded research grants with a total value of $8.7M. She was the first academic appointed to ARC College of Experts HCA Panel representing the Building FoR Code in 2016.
