Mrs Lauren Carr

I am a Muruwari woman and optometrist, born and raised on Wiradjuri country in the central west of NSW. 

I graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Vision Science/Master of Optometry in 2017, following which, I returned to the central west, now residing back on the beautiful lands of the Wiradjuri people once again. I have worked as an optometrist both in private practice and within the community-controlled sector. I also have experience in program design within the NGO space.

My passion is in Indigenous, public and rural and remote health.

I am currently a sitting board director of both Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) and the First Nations Eye Health Alliance (FNEHA) as well as a member of the OCANZ Indigenous Strategy Taskforce.

In my spare time, you can find me curled up with a novel and my Irish Wolfhound, on a hockey field, fishing on the Galari (Lachlan River) or just enjoying the company of all my family.
