My research revolves around three interconnected themes: i) Assessing past changes in oceanic circulation, ii) Understanding the role of oceanic circulation in past and future abrupt climate change, iii) Understanding changes in the global carbon cycle and atmospheric CO2. I explore these themes by performing numerical experiments with Earth system models and comparing model outputs to paleo-proxy records or observations.
I am co-editor in chief and editor of Climate of the Past.
