Maryam joined WRL as a Scientia PhD Scholar in 2019 to research “An innovative fishway to restore migration for freshwater fish”; and help solve one of the world’s major challenges, fish migration!
Maryam holds a Bachelor and Master degrees from Shiraz University of Iran and ranked 1st among peers. During her Master degree, she undertook extensive laboratory experiments on dispersion of pollution in compound meandering channels with rigid vegetation. Due to her excellent research and publication track record, she has been awarded the prestigious UNSW Scientia PhD Scholarship to undertake her PhD at WRL.
