Mr Matt Blacka
MIEAust CPEng NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus)
Matt is a Chartered Professional Engineer with 22 years of experience working across consulting, public service and research sectors. He is an experienced manager of large-scale climate science programs and a leader of applied scientific and engineering projects related to the ocean and coastal zone. Matt is currently Research Manager for the Australian Coastline Imaging Network (AusCIN).
Matt’s technical expertise is in the fields of coastal processes, coastal and ocean hazards, coastal infrastructure, climate risk assessment and adaptation. In recent years he has applied this expertise within the international development sector. Matt’s work has extended throughout the east coast of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. He holds a Master of Engineering Science in Coastal Engineering and Management, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with honours in Coastal Engineering.
