Matthew is an Education Focussed Lecturer at UNSW School of Optometry & Vision Science (SOVS). He is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS), Registered O&M Specialist in Australasia (ROMSA) and a qualified Guide Dog Mobility Instructor (GDMI). Matthew has worked for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT for 23 years as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist and in management/leadership roles. Matthew has contributed to the development of the Orientation and Mobility profession over many years through supervision, mentoring, as conference convenor for the 2010 Australasian Orientation and Mobility Conference, and through lecturing roles in O&M programs at the University of Newcastle and Macquarie University. Matthew is currently lecturing into the O&M program at the University of New South Wales, coordinating Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements and O&M techniques clinics.
