Mr Md Akizur Rahman
Dr. Md Akizur Rahman completed his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering in October 2025 at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. He is currently working as a Casual Academic in the same school. His research focuses on the development of advanced image processing methods, algorithms, and software systems for computer-assisted diagnosis, with particular emphasis on medical image analysis, including classification and segmentation of 2D/3D medical images using deep learning, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques.
Dr. Rahman received his Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering degree from Prime University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2014. He subsequently obtained a Master of Information Science and Technology (Computer Science) degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2019. During his master’s studies, he served as a Research Assistant at the Center for Software Technology and Management (SOFTAM) Laboratory, Faculty of Information Science and Technology, where he was actively involved in research on software systems and data-driven methods.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Rahman has published multiple peer-reviewed papers in reputable international journals and conferences in the areas of medical imaging and artificial intelligence. His work has received recognition through awards and competitive research outcomes, and he continues to contribute to the academic community through teaching, research, and scholarly service.
In addition to his academic activities, Dr. Rahman is committed to mentoring students and contributing to collaborative research initiatives. His long-term goal is to advance clinically relevant AI-driven solutions that support medical decision-making and improve healthcare outcomes.
