Dr Michael Coffey

Dr Michael Coffey (BMed, MD, PhD, FRACP) is a Paediatric Gastroenterologist, Head of the Gastroenterology Department at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick, and a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at UNSW Medicine & Health. He completed his PhD on cystic fibrosis and the gut microbiome in 2020. Dr Coffey has now attracted over $3 million in research funding. He has authored over 70 publications in the fields of cystic fibrosis, gut microbiome, pancreatitis, and serious games for medical education. Dr Coffey has received numerous national and international awards for his research and medical education innovations.
