Mr Michael White

Lecturer
Arts, Design & Architecture (ADA)
School of Built Environment

Michael is an experienced landscape architect and researcher whose work bridges digital technology and planting design. With a focus on urban biodiversity, resilience, and beauty, his research explores how digital tools—from custom-coded simulations to spatial data analysis—can inform and improve real-world planting strategies. He brings over a decade of practical experience, currently working as an Associate at international design studio Hassell in Sydney, and teaching while completing his PhD at UNSW. His work is grounded in a commitment to experimental, data-informed approaches that advance the performance and adaptability of designed landscapes.
