Nic's research focuses on the social dimensions of climate change as well as science communication more broadly. This includes understanding how difference people engage with climate information, who they trust, and how best to promote productive discussions and solutions. He makes use of both quantitative and qualitative research methods involving statistical modeling, public opinion surveys, survey-embedded experiments, and evidence synthesis. He has published a number research papers in academic journals such as: Environmental Research Letters, Climatic Change, and npj Climate Action where he is part of the ECR Reviewer Board.
