Norman Chong is a PhD candidate at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney with the Biobehavioural Prevention Research Group in the HIV Epidemiology and Prevention Program (HEPP) and the Mathematical Epidemiology and Surveillance Group in the Surveillance, Evaluation and Research Program (SERP). Norman is also an alumnus of the David Cooper HIV/AIDS Research Training (CHART).

Norman's research focuses on optimising HIV prevention and care cascades to improve HIV-related and sexual health outcomes among gay, bisexual and queer men who have sex with men, and transgender and gender-diverse populations across the life course. Norman’s research applies advanced quantitative methods (including biostatistics and mathematical modelling) to understand how social, structural and systems-level determinants can create enabling and protective environments that strengthen HIV prevention, care and health outcomes.
