PhD Computer Science
My research interests are in the field of machine learning and statistics, data modelling and prediction in the area of health data science.
I obtained my Master in Telecommunication Engineering (2003) from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and my PhD in Computer Science (2008) from the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M). Subsequently, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the area of machine learning at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).
Since 2011, my research has focused on the area of machine learning and statistics applied to health data having worked at the Centre for Health Informatics (UNSW-Macquarie University) for a number of years before starting my current position at the Centre for Big Data Research in Health (UNSW) in 2017.
As part of of the MSc Health Data Science, I coordinate and teach the courses of:
