Peiwen is an early-career postdoctoral researcher at the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health. She is an experienced epidemiologist and biostatistician. Her research expertise and interests span improving health and healthcare outcomes of people with neuropsychiatric disabilities, advancing methodologies of large-scale data linkage, women's health, and pharmacoepidemiology.

Peiwen currently leads or contributes to multiple research projects aimed at bridging gaps in health and health service utilisation among people with intellectual disability. Her main projects include investigating medication dispensing, particularly psychotropics, and drug safety among people with intellectual disability; understanding and improving data infrastructure to address knowledge gaps related to intellectual disability; and developing a tailored comorbidity index to enhance health research for people with intellectual disability.
