I am a recent medical graduate, working as a junior doctor in Sydney with interests in infectious diseases and acute medicine.

1) Researcher at UNSW Sydney:
For the last few years, I have been working with the labs of Professor Nicodemus Tedla and Professor Nadeem Kaakoush to examine the influence of host gut microbiota on acute anterior uveitis and HLA-B27-associated disease, across ongoing projects involving clinical and pre-clinical domains. I was a collaborator in developing an innovative educational tool for fundus photo interpretation.

2) Research Skills Education and Teaching:
I am a big advocate for promoting effective scientific communication, particularly with respect to scientific writing and data visualisation. My current teaching involvement includes developing and running a series of workshops to help students excel in the research component of the 4th year medical program (ILP/Honours). We focus on critical skills for these future clinicians, including appraisal of literature, conducting critical analysis, data visualisation and analysis principles, and writing a scientific manuscript. Research integrity is a key focus that is emphasised throughout this program. I am also fortunate to have had active involvement with bedside and tutorial group teaching across the basic sciences and clinical concepts in medicine.

3) Evidence-based Medical Practice:
I am passionate about integrating biomedical sciences and evidence-based medicine into daily clinical practice, and am working on developing educational resources to help aid this through my growing blog (Myths and Maladies) which covers key clinical nuggets in a humorous and digestible fashion.
