S M Showybul Islam Shakib was born in Bangladesh. He received a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Bangladesh and M.Eng.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. He is a Scientia PhD scholar and currently working toward a PhD degree in motor drive at UNSW. He is the author of several scientific journals and conference proceedings. His research interest lies in Motor Drives, Power Systems and Power Electronics.
