Dr Sandra Chuang is a Clinical Academic (Lecturer) in Respiratory Medicine, at Sydney Children's Hospital (SCH). She maintains a very active role within the Discipline of Paediatrics, School of Women's & Children's Health - in clinical medicine, education, and research.
Dr Chuang has established a strong interest in children with various respiratory conditions including children with neuromuscular disease, and rare lung diseases such as cystic fibrosis, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, and congenital lung malformations. She is fascinated with the link between respiratory and sleep medicine, in particular in children with the chronic conditions mentioned above. Dr Chuang was awarded her PhD in 2019, titled " Non-invasive measures of neural respiratory drive in children: the utility of respiratory muscle electromyography".
Dr Chuang is a member of the Education and Training Subcommittee of the Thoracic Society Australia and New Zealand.
