Professor Satish Chand

Satish Chand is Professor of Finance in the School of Business at the University of New South Wales and based at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra. 

Satish is also an Adjunct Professor at the Crawford School of Economics and Government at the Australian National University.  His research interests include labour migration, fragile states, and the challenges of development. 

For the past five years, Satish has been researching the nexus between defence and development, drawing on the experiences of external peacekeeping in Bougainville (PNG), East Timor, Liberia, Mozambique, and the Solomon Islands.  This research has ramifications for pacification strategies in fragile states.
