Shangzhi Xiong (also known as Benson) is a research fellow working at the Health Systems Science Group of the George Institute for Global Health, and a Conjoint Lecturer at the School of Population Health, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Xiong’s primary research area is health system evaluation and strengthening, with a focus on primary health care, non-communicable disease management, and digital health innovations. He has worked as leading researcher on multiple international projects, practicing a range of scientific methodologies, including designing and conducting pragmatic trials, cohort studies, mixed-methods evaluation, research codesign, policy analysis, and evidence synthesis.
Within the past five years, Dr. Xiong has produced over 30 peer-reviewed publications on renowned peer-reviewed academic journals, including the Lancet Regional Health Western Pacific, npj Digital Medicine, and JAMA cardiology.
