Professor Kook directs the UNSW Engine Research Laboratory where new powertrain technologies and alternative fuels are experimentally investigated for various vehicle applications. These include new diesel compression-ignition (CI) and petrol spark-ignition (SI) engines developed for high efficiency and low air-polluting emissions and co-operation with other means of power generation such as gasoline-electric hybrids. His alternative fuel research includes hydrogen, ethanol, methanol, jet fuel, biodiesel and other carbon neutral fuels produced from renewable sources. Please find more about his research from the Engine Research Laboratory website.
