Dr Shuai He
Dr Shuai He is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). His research focuses on advanced manufacturing, intelligent sensing systems, wearable sensors, structural health monitoring, composite materials, and renewable energy technologies. His interdisciplinary research integrates materials science, artificial intelligence, and engineering to develop innovative sensing and monitoring solutions for healthcare, aerospace, smart manufacturing, and sustainable energy applications.
Dr He leads and contributes to several nationally competitive research programs, including the ARC Research Hub for Connected Sensors for Health and multiple ARC Linkage Projects. He has secured more than AUD $13 million in competitive research funding throughout his career as Chief Investigator, Partner Investigator, or Co-Investigator through collaborations with academia, industry, and government. His research has been published in leading international journals, including Advanced Science, Nano Energy, Materials Horizons, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Applied Physics Reviews, and Composites Part A.

My Research Supervision
Dr Shuai He currently co-supervises multiple HDR candidates within the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW. His supervision portfolio includes PhD and research students working on topics related to wearable sensing technologies, advanced manufacturing systems, smart materials and structures, and energy technologies. He works closely with students on interdisciplinary projects connected to the ARC Research Hub for Connected Sensors for Health and other collaborative research initiatives, supporting students in both fundamental research and industry-linked innovation.
