I am a dual trained Anaesthetist and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician working as a clinician-researcher. I have been working in South Western Sydney Local Health District since 2013.  I currently serve as the Director of Acute Pain with the Department of Anaesthesia at Liverpool Hospital. I also work as an Interventional Pain Specialist within the Department of Chronic Pain at Liverpool Hospital. I am actively involved in teaching and research. My research areas span across the continuum from acute to chronic pain as well as medical education. I have previously examined the role of bedside teaching in improving understanding about pain while my current research focus is on factors involved in the development of persistent postoperative opioid use following elective surgery.
