Centre for Ecosystem Science

Based in the Centre for Ecosystem Science and collaborating closely with Bush Heritage Australia, I am leading and coordinating research into the design, implementation and analysis of ecosystem monitoring using drones. This research project will compare and evaluate different approaches to vegetation assessment, considering accuracy, time, cost, expertise, data management, and long-term monitoring potential.

Previous to this role, I worked at the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (and the previous Department of Planning and Environment) as a Spatial Scientist supporting the regional delivery of the Koala Strategy. I also worked with koalas at NGO Science for Wildlife, leading post-bushfire koala surveys and research.

I was previously based at the Centre for Ecosystem Science during my PhD, where I examined how hippopotamus were affected by changing water and vegetation resources in northern Botswana.
